Romeo and Juliet at the Mariinsky Theatre

Mama, Tania and I had a fantastic time at the Mariinsky Theatre. We saw the Mariinsky Ballet perform Romeo and Juliet - a 3.5 hour long performance! It was breathtaking. The theatre is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is in shades of green and grandeur. Beautiful chandeliers, stunning dancers, and every seat was a good one. The orchestra was fantastic - the xylophone player played some really key moments which made me think of Tessa! The dancing was great, especially the main joker, which the Scientist would have really loved. The costumes were really beautiful, as were all the scenes. It was a fantastic production and certainly the highlight of our trip to Saint Petersburg!
